Welcome Fàilte a Chàirdean
The Highlands of Scotland have provided the world with stimulating ideas in science, art and religion; our beautiful environment has thrilled and inspired generations of visitors and locals; and our people have travelled the globe contributing to communities in every continent. Now, on behalf of The Highland Council and our partners, it is my great pleasure to welcome you to a celebration of those things that our area, and Scotland, has done to make an impact on so many lives.
We have a fantastic programme with more than 100 events over two weeks in our Highland Homecoming festival – ur beatha dhan dùthaich - that give a flavour of the remarkable people, places and events of the Highlands, and provide a unique contribution to the national Homecoming Scotland celebrations.
Look through the range of performances, heritage events, walks, and exhibitions and create your own journey round our culture and heritage and get a flavour of what makes this area so special. Why not take an extra day and squeeze in two or three more events…
You can dance into the wee hours at a ceilidh, learn about your family tree, or hear about Scotland’s Global Impact from leading historians at our major international conference – Scotland’s Global Impact.
Co dhiubh a tha sibh a’ fuireach an seo no dìreach a’ tadhal faodaidh sibh a bhith cinnteach à fàilte chridheil aig àm Tilleadh Dhachaigh dhan Ghàidhealtachd. Bidh sinn a’ coimhead air adhart rir faicinn san Dàmhair’.
