Traditional Music and Song Association (TMSA) of Scotland Young Traditional Tour 2009
The TMSA Young Traditional Tour 2009 is a showcase of the cream of the new generation of Scottish musicians - the five finalists and winner of the BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician of the Year Award 2009. As well as being highly talented solo performers, the sound they create as a band is energetic, dynamic and full of promise for the tradition they carry. There’s a real powerhouse of Scottish fiddling in this band led by this year’s winner Ruairidh MacMillan from Nairn. From the gentle slow airs of the Gaelic Highlands to the storming jigs and reels and the quintessentially Scottish Strathspeys - these young musicians are truly exceptional! The music and the musicians return home – come and join them!
